Ok folks, I've got Jen Nelson onboard. She is currently working on securing the stage at the PlymouthWaterfront for a date in September, and she wrote up an 8 page proposal/missionstatement. What we'd like to do at this event is have some local bands, artists, activists, farmers, and other community members come out andspeak about these issues. I'll have more information as thingsprogress, but we will need to start promoting this event as soon as ourplans are set and the calls have been made. Any help you can give us is greatly appreciated!
Jen estimates we will need between 1500-2000 dollars to secure the venue, pay the insurance, and take care of our performers.
If you cannot contribute money, we need resources as well! We want to make t shirts (hemp or organic cotton preferred!), stickers, photocopies, and dvd's, so if you can help out with that, we will love you very much!
This project is only one day old and already generating a lot of buzz and assistance. We're off to a great start! Thanks to everyone who has helped spread the word and get this moving along!

Project Awake!
Ahh, inspiration and synchronicity.
I'm mad as hell, and I'm not going to take it anymore!
The internet is a wonderful resource for getting the messages of truth, love, and peace out there - but what about all the people who don't usethe internet? Or the millions who still use dial up, and thereforesites like YouTube are impossible for them to operate?

Let's take this shit to the streets.

I would like to produce stickers, t shirts, postcards, pamphlets, anddvd's to hand out freely to people, and I intend to send packages ofthese materials to anyone interested in distributing them. Think the "You are beautiful" campaign, but with even more information. Gentle deprogramming of the media masses through art, knowledge, and empowerment.

By all means, continue using the internet, but let's get a real world campaign going amongst the IPower community.
Here's how it begins.

I would like to propose one more thing, lets start gathering facts, andin a neat and concise flyer, list some of our nations tragedies, forinstance, 911 facts, bush and war facts, net neutrality facts, andother facts like how the usa was giving money to hitler, how bush'sfamily bloodline is all elite, and then get flyers, give them to peopleto read, and film their reactions as they read it(obviously get theirpermission to film before giving them the info, tell them you only wantto hear what they think about it after they read it. we need to try andget the info out to people as well as film responses. I am sure somepeople will not agree to it, give them the info and move on to the nextperson.

That's a great idea, and I was thinking of something along similarlines. I was thinking about ways to infiltrate the consciousness ofpeople who are not yet awake, and the big idea is using the mediaagainst itself. I have NO idea how to go about doing that - I have nocontacts in the broadcasting industry! On the grassroots level, though,I was thinking about making stickers, t shirts, postcards and suchlike, setting them free into the world and encouraging people todistribute them anywhere and everywhere. A bit of creative mischiefmight be necessary. I'll need a sponsor or investor or something, cuzsticker paper, t shirts, and ink don't grow on trees, LOL... But yeah,I like an info packet kind of thing also. Maybe get a really organized, easy to understand video put together along with a pamphlet detailingsolutions - what people can do on an individual level to help.

HOW YOU CAN HELP!

Tactics:
Putting stickers and flyers on products; as an example, a factsheetabout high fructose corn syrup plastered all over the soda aisles atgrocery stores.
"Droplifting" DVD's. When a dvd is produced by us, one efficient way ofdistributing it will be to put the copies in bins at video stores andwalking away, leaving it for customers to find.
Other forms of culture jamming are possible. Let's have a discussion about it!

Artists: submit designs that portray a message of truth, information,AND compassion. There is no room for mixed messages of hatred, pointingfingers, etc. The media is not fair, so we must be.

Activism: Help hand out the information! When the funds required toproduce the materials is generated, I'll ship out packages to anyonewho wants to help hand out the materials. Have fun with it!

Donate: I am using chip in and paypal to take donations to get thisproject rolling. Of course if you or someone you know has the abilityto make photocopies, manufacture DVD's, stickers, or tshirts at a verylow cost or no cost, let me know so we can get them involved.
